Tom is a storyteller based in Auckland, New Zealand.

His debut feature film, SHUT EYE, premiered at the 2022 New Zealand International Film Festival and was acquired by leading independent distributor Gravitas Ventures for North American distribution. It has since screened internationally at the Melbourne International Film Festival and the Manchester International Film Festival. The film is currently available on Tubi, Kanopy and Apple TV in the USA and Canada.

With a focus on character-driven narrative, Tom’s feature-length screenplays have been recognized in The Black List’s Top List on four occasions, with official endorsements. They have also featured on Coverfly’s The Red List and been selected as a Grand Finalist at the PAGE Screenwriting Awards.

In 2023, Tom was invited to the Fantastic 7 Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival to pitch his screenplay THE TELEVANGELIST, which is in development as an official co-production with Curious Films (HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE) and Minds Eye Entertainment (FORSAKEN, THE TALL MAN).

Tom’s sophomore feature film, NOTES FROM A FISH, was selected for the 2025 New Zealand International Film Festival for its world premiere.

Tom has also been writing with Zero Gravity Management on a to-be-announced thriller screenplay.
