Tom is a storyteller based in Auckland, New Zealand.

His debut feature film, SHUT EYE, premiered at the 2022 New Zealand International Film Festival and was acquired by leading independent distributor Gravitas Ventures for North American distribution. The film was celebrated by critics as “One of the best New Zealand films of 2022” and has since screened internationally at the Melbourne International Film Festival and the Manchester International Film Festival. It was also nominated for two Septimius Awards, including Best Oceanian Film.

With a focus on character-driven narrative, Tom’s feature-length screenplays have been recognised by The Black List, with official endorsements after being featured on their Top List on several occasions.

In 2023, Tom was invited to the Fantastic 7 Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival to pitch his screenplay THE TELEVANGELIST, which is in development as an official co-production with Curious Films (HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE) and Minds Eye Entertainment (FORSAKEN, THE TALL MAN).

Tom’s sophomore feature film, NOTES FROM A FISH, was selected for the 2025 New Zealand International Film Festival for its world premiere, and was described by NZIFF Head Programmer as the “Sleeper comedy hit of this years festival”. The film is due for a nation-wide theatrical release in December 2025.

Tom has also been writing with Zero Gravity Management on a to-be-announced thriller screenplay.
